Emma Selby

Emma Selby is a serial entrepreneur based in Farnham, Surrey, UK. In 2013 she founded a series of business hubs with the mission of bringing entrepreneurs together at regular meetings and online to combat the loneliness of home working and up-skill small business founders through peer-to-peer training. In 2016, Emma became involved in trying to rejuvenate the economy of the former military town of Bordon in Hampshire, a rural community an hour from London undergoing massive regeneration and infrastructure change and needing a new economic and commercial impetus to match. In March 2018, SiGNAL opened its doors in Bordon – a free coworking space operating on a social capital model, with additional paid-for training and meeting rooms. This was a bold move – few are embracing a social capital model and even fewer in non-urban areas. SiGNAL is going from strength to strength and has a vibrant community of freelancers, small businesses owners, pre-seed entrepreneurs, makers and remote workers.
Emma has a Masters in English, a degree in Russian and began her working life as a journalist specialising in Russian Oil and Gas.
