Hey there, fellow GCUC attendees! Ready to dive into the buzzing city of Manchester? Picture this: vibrant streets, rich history, and a whole lot of fun waiting just around the corner. Whether you’re a culture vulture, a food fanatic, or just up for some good times, Manchester’s got you covered.

Let’s jump into these juicy ideas in this lively city where we will be June 6-7!

From traditional British pubs serving up hearty classics to trendy eateries dishing out modern elevated plates, there’s something for everyone in Manchester! With an incredible view and a seasonal menu Climat is not to be missed. Natural Wines your thing? Try Flawd wine bar serving up low-intervention wines and small plates. For an elevated pub experience, The Edinburgh Castle serves elevated Gastropub style food in a 19th-century building. Mackie Mayor is great for foodies who can never just have one thing. This beautifully restored market hall features a variety of independent food vendors serving everything from gourmet burgers to wood-fired pizzas. Looking for a little more spice in your life? Bundobust has fantastic Indian street food and craft beer. Finally, if a morning coffee and baked goods is more your jam – we recommend Siop Shop in the Northern Quarter for excellent coffee and homemade doughnut or chic Artisanal bakery and brunch at Pollen in Ancoats.

For attendees looking to learn more about Manchester’s history, visit iconic landmarks such as the Manchester Cathedral, a stunning example of Gothic architecture dating back to the 15th century. Explore the city’s industrial heritage at the Museum of Science and Industry, where interactive exhibits bring Manchester’s past to life. Don’t miss a stroll through Castlefield, the city’s historic district, lined with canals, warehouses, and Roman ruins.
