When we were thinking about where to bring GCUC UK Manchester this year, the question wasn’t just about square footage or AV specs. It was about the right room.

Set inside two restored Victorian market halls in Manchester’s St. John’s neighbourhood, Department Campfield is a 135,000 sq ft tech and creative campus operated by Department, the team behind Bonded Warehouse, XYZ and The Globe Building. Allied London opened the development in 2025, bringing back to life buildings that had stood largely derelict for years.

The result is heritage architecture that doesn’t fight the industry it houses. Glass roofs over coworking floors. Victorian ironwork alongside content studios and podcast suites. A mezzanine bar that turns into a craft market at weekends. Not a landlord’s idea of what creative people want, but a working campus built around what creative and tech businesses actually need.

We’re proud to be partnering with them for Manchester.

GCUC UK Manchester runs 4–5 June at Department Campfield, 1 Liverpool Road, Manchester M3 4FP.

If you haven’t been to Department Campfield yet, this is a good reason to go.
