Coworking Keeps Climbing: 4,199 Spaces Across the UK & Ireland

posted on August 4, 2025 by Emilie Lashmar

Data sourced from CoworkingCafe, Q2 2025

New data from CoworkingCafe confirms what many in the industry already feel: demand for flexible workspaces continues to grow. As of Q2 2025, there are 4,199 coworking spaces across the UK and Ireland, making the region one of the most saturated flex markets globally.

London still leads the pack with 1,202 spaces, making up nearly a third of the UK total. Manchester ranks second with 118, followed by Birmingham (68), Glasgow (61) and Bristol (61). In Ireland, Dublin contributes 250 of the country’s spaces, cementing its status as the heartbeat of Irish coworking.

This growth isn’t a fluke. Hybrid work is now baked into the system. Businesses want workspace they can scale up or down. Landlords want steady income. Flexible offices offer both.

Pricing paints a clear picture

Day passes average £25 across the UK, with London, Oxford and Edinburgh coming in higher at £30.

Monthly open desk memberships vary widely:

  • Oxford tops out at £295

  • London averages £203

  • Liverpool is among the lowest at £139

Virtual office services range from £175 a month in Liverpool (yes, Liverpool) to under £50 in Cardiff and Bristol. Meeting room prices follow suit, from £20 an hour in Nottingham to £50 in London.

Who’s in charge?

Regus remains the dominant operator with 249 locations in the UK. Fora, Bruntwood and Workspace Group also feature heavily in major cities, each with focused regional strategies.

In Ireland, it’s a more centralised picture. Pembr and Iconic Offices operate exclusively in Dublin, while Regus takes a broader approach across the country.
