Meet our MC for GCUC Manchester: Georgia-Kaye Berry, Head of Sales at Colony

posted on May 6, 2025 by Emilie Lashmar

Part powerhouse, part people-connector, and 100% plugged into the coworking world — Georgia-Kaye Berry knows how to command a room. As Head of Sales at Colony, she’s been instrumental in shaping spaces that don’t just look great, but genuinely work for the people who use them.

This year, she’s bringing that energy to the GCUC UK stage as our official MC in Manchester — and trust us, we’re in for a treat. We caught up with Georgia to talk creativity, community, hybrid models, and what she’s most excited about when the mic is in her hand.

What drew you to the world of coworking and flexible workspaces?

The whole scene scratches my creative itch – I’ve been obsessed with interior design from a young age, I’m a massive people person who’s intrigued by humans and habits, and it’s a continually evolving industry which keeps me on my toes!

Tell us a little about what makes Colony’s approach to community and design unique.

Call us control freaks, but we are a very much an ‘in house’ operator. Our founders design and produce all of our spaces with our fit out team, they watch and analyse how the spaces are being used and are continually looking for ways to improve areas wherever, and as soon as possible. On top of this, our site teams are incredible at what they do, the knowledge they have about their communities makes a massive difference. We always try to champion our members and the staff are brilliant at connecting both individuals and businesses.

What excites you most about hosting GCUC UK Manchester this year?

After attending as a guest last year, I’m so excited to see it from the other side and actually be a part of making the day even more memorable. We’re bringing the energy this year and it’s going to be a good one!

What do you think the biggest opportunity is for coworking operators right now?

Better supporting the hybrid work model. As an operator of course we want our tenants in 24/7, but we need to cater to the needs of each individual and while hybrid working is still very much prevalent, hybrid terms should be considered.

GCUC is all about connection — what kind of conversations are you hoping to spark from the stage?

I’ll be focusing on authenticity and hope to leave people feeling a little more inspired to be themselves, take creative risks, and thinking of ways to put them and their spaces out there!

If someone’s on the fence about attending, what would you say to them?

GCUC is all about the future of work, space, and community, and this is where the real conversations are happening. You’ll leave with insights on the market and ideas on how to make yourself more prevalent in it!
